Troy Kane is the Chief Operating Officer of Eagle Seven Trading, a privately-held, globally-positioned algorithmic trading firm headquartered in Chicago. Eagle Seven was founded by Chris Lorenzen in 2004 with an initial focus on trading energy commodities. Since then, the firm has successfully expanded to trading several different asset classes across the global marketplace, and has become one of the largest market making firms in energy derivatives. Troy began his career working on the trading floors of the Chicago Board of Trade as a teenager. He has over 18 years of experience in the commodity and financial derivatives industry, and spent 15 years with the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME Group) in various roles ranging from trading system design and development to commodity business line management. Before leaving CME Group to join Eagle Seven Trading Troy was Director of Proprietary Trading Client Development and is currently listed on 9 algorithm patents filed by the CME group. Troy earned his Bachelor of Science degree from DePaul University, where he majored in Finance and Economics, with a minor in Political Science. He also received an MBA in Applied Economics and Finance from Roosevelt University. Troy also sits on the Finance Advisory Board at DePaul University.
